Alternatively, a pleasant 6-minute walk along the lane, The Green Man offers bar meals. Greenways Lodge have made breakfast available for those who wish to depart very early in the morning – contact the hotel if you require this service. Otherwise, 2 breakfast options are available (both at an additional cost). |

This forest village is in the North Essex countryside, amid the National Trust nature reserve area known as Hatfield Forest Country Park & Lakes. Many fine walks may be taken into the forest park and lake area, with its lakeside cafe, boardwalk nature trail and The Flitch Way, a disused railway. Stop for a beer and pub meal in The Green Man, a great old forest pub. London is 45 minutes away by express train or coach. Cambridge is 20 minutes away by train. Bags may be left with airports left luggage service for sight seeing and walking trips. |

The lodge is just 4.8 km (3 miles), or 5 minutes, from the main airport. It is also 1.6 km (one mile) from the M11 motorway (junction 8), as well as the airport south boundary and long stay car parks. By Car: - From the M11 (junction 8), exit via the B1256 to Takeley (formerly the A120). - Turn right onto the lane opposite the Esso garage towards Great Hallingbury. - On this lane you will travel for 1.6 km (one mile). Halfway on the left is the slightly obscured Hop Poles Pub. - Continue past to the tight right-hand bend and the flint house opposite. - Continue through the bend and look on your left for the 3rd house coloured yellow. - Do not pass The Grove. By Air: The VL-7 service departs Stansted Airport bus station every hour until 18:45. Get off the bus at Start Hill Esso Garage, then a walk along the village lane for 1.6 km (one mile) and follow the appropriate directions (by car) that are listed further up this page. If you have booked either 2 rooms or a stay of at least 2 nights, the lodge will charge your credit card with a 20 % deposit. This is non-refundable in the event of cancellation. In all other cases, payment is due upon arrival at the hotel. Payment can be made in GBP or EUR. Please note that Greenways adds a handling charge of GBP 5 per room per night to any payment made via credit or debit card. The lodge does not accept American Express or Diners credit cards for guarantee or payment. If provided, the reservation will be cancelled. The lodge is also unable to accept any debit cards such as Electron, Switch or Maestro as a guarantee. If these are used, Greenways will take a full advance payment with a GBP 5 card fee. If the payment is not authorised then the reservation will be cancelled. If you want to charge the total cost to the card provided for security, the guest house is only able to do so if they are notified by email before your arrival. Please note that the guest house reserve the right to charge an initial deposit of 20% of the total booking cost. This is non-refundable if cancelled. You must email the lodge in advance to re-confirm your arrival. In this email you must state your booking number, date of stay, room type, guest name and estimated time of arrival. Please note that this is not a 24-hour guest house and it can only accept guests between the hours of 16:00 and 23:00. Access cannot be gained outside of these times unless by prior agreement. Late arrivals after 23:00, can only gain access to the guest house by prior arrangement and this will incur an additional cost of GBP 5 per room. The full room cost is charged in advance, by credit card. Confirmation and instructions will then be sent to you. Free airport transfer offer is reliable and direct to the airports passenger terminals, available from 05:00 to 10:00 at prearranged on the hour departures. Name, number of seats and time must be reserved and booked directly by email only, and no less than 24 hours from booked arrival date and confirmed by us on return email, our confirmation should be shown on arrival. The guest house is strictly non-smoking. If there is evidence of your having smoked in the guest house, your credit card will be charged with a GBP 25 cleaning fee. All correspondence, changes, requests and notifications should only be made by email. |

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged. Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome. All children under 12 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding. All children under 2 years are charged GBP 10.00 per night and person for cots. All children under 12 years are charged GBP 10.00 per night and person for extra beds. All children from 12 to 16 years are charged GBP 15.00 per night and person for extra beds. Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1. Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged. VAT and city/tourist taxes: VAT is included. Service charge is included. City/tourist tax is not applicable. Internet: Wireless internet is available in the entire hotel and is free of charge. Meal Plan: Continental breakfast is not included and costs GBP 5.00 per person. Parking: Private parking is possible on site (reservation is needed) and costs GBP 3.00 per day. Pets: Pets are not allowed. The hotel reserves the right to pre-authorise credit cards prior to arrival. |
