McCaigs Tower (1 mile / 1.6 km) - loosely based on the Colosseum in Rome, this folly was never completed. The prominent empty shell dominates the Oban skyline, and is now a public garden with magnificent views to the islands of Kerrera, Lismore and Mull. Glencruitten Golf Club (1.5 miles / 2.5 km) - colourful flora and fauna, rare trees and an abundance of wild life make this a particularly attractive course. The remains of a Roman fort sit beneath the 4th hole. Scottish Sea Life Sanctuary (10.5 miles / 17 km) - Scotlands leading animal rescue centre caring for dozens of sick, injured and orphaned seal pups every year. On the picturesque shores of Loch Crenan, visitors can watch the Canadian otters dive and swim. |
