At the heart of the famous and spectacular Lake District, Braemount House offers travel guides that begin from the door via road or foot. If required, they can make reservations with one of the excellent local companies providing half or full-day mini coach trips around the Lakes, which pick-up and drop-off in front of the house. Attractions in the immediate vicinity include: Orrest Head (1.5 km / 0.9 miles) - a short walk up this hill off the top of High Street will lead you to Orrest Head, offering a spectacular panoramic view of the surrounding lakes and hills. Lake Windermere (1.6 km / 1 mile) - the largest natural lake in England and an essential visit when exploring the region. Windermere Steamboats and Museum (2 km / 1.2 miles) - a unique collection of Lake Windermeres nautical heritage in a beautiful and tranquil lakeside setting, including Beatrix Potters rowing boat and the oldest surviving mechanically propelled boat in the world. |

By Car: - From the M6, take junction 36 and join the A591. - As you enter Windermere, turn left, following the town centre sign. - Pass through the towns one-way system and then take the 1st left after the clock tower, signed Queens Drive. - Then take the 1st right into Sunny Bank Road. - Braemount House is situated 50 metres up on the left hand side, with private car parking on both sides of the house. By Train: From Windermere Station (1.6 km / 1 mile): - Taxis are readily available for this short transfer. - If proceeding on foot, exit the station and head left towards High Street. - Take the left fork into Victoria Street and then turn left into Crescent Road. - Follow this main road for approximately 700 metres, until you reach Queens Drive on your left. - Take this street and Sunny Bank Road will be ahead on the right. |

Built in 1879, this one-time doctor’s house and surgery retains its extra-wide doorways and authentic Victorian tiled hallway, with changes made to the building only to add comfort without sacrificing character. You will also have access to the swimming pool, gym, sauna and jacuzzi at a local private leisure club just a 20-minute walk away. Sparkling wine, champagne and flower arrangements can be added to your room as a delightful finishing touch. |

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 7 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
