Built as a prestigious hotel by a local tradesman in 1934, the Cliff Head Hotel has been under private ownership for many years. Perfectly located on a private road in Carlyon Bay, directly opposite the Carlyon Bay Hotel. Overlooking beautiful sandy beaches and coves, close to many scenic clifftop walks offering gorgeous panoramic views of the amazing Cornish coastline, the hotel is right in the middle of the Cornish Riviera, which makes it an ideal base from which guests can go out and explore the numerous and wonderful sights that Cornwall has to offer. Whether it be old castles, historic houses, beautiful gardens which, thanks to the Cornish climate all year round are home to many varieties of tropical plant-life, or the many fishing villages close by, guests wont be short of things to see and do to make their stay a memorable experience theyll want to relive many times. There is a golf course almost adjacent to the hotel as well as 2 more situated close by. Water sports, horse riding, boat trips and fishing are also possible nearby. Just 3 miles away is the stunning Eden Project, the worlds largest greenhouse with its vast array of plants, providing beautiful colours year round. Just 9 miles away are the Lost Gardens of Heligan, a garden of beauty set in 200 acres which were created and maintained by the Tremayne family for generations and was featured as a live wildlife location by the BBC. The town of Charlestown with its Shipwreck Centre museum is only 2 kilometres away and the city of Truro with its cobbled streets, historic cathedral, delightful little craft shops and flea markets is only half a hours drive away. The National Maritime Museum is only 30 kilometres away in the town of Falmouth, where guests can learn all about the maritime history of Cornwall or view the sea life from the Underwater Tidal Zone.
