Selsey was once an important Saxon Town and fishing has been the mainstream of life here for centuries. St Wilfred founded a Monastery/Cathedral here, which was transferred to Chichester in 1075. The main street still looks much as it did in the 18th century and there are several thatched cottages to be seen. To the West of the town is Selsey Windmill which was built in 1820. This has been restored and can be admired from the outside. With so many of the townsfolk dependent on the sea for a living the lifeboat station was established here in 1860. There is also an interesting Lifeboat Museum. The towns East Beach was once a well-recognised scene for smuggling. Much later during World War II East Beach was used as a gathering point for sections of the Mulberry harbour. This was transported across the channel as part of the D Day landings. Selsey has much to offer visitors of all ages – why not walk along the unspoilt beaches to Pagham Nature Reserve There is also a local Golf course, horse riding, fishing and a range of cafes bars and pubs. |

From the a27 at Chichester, head south on the b2145 and continue for 7 miles. Once in Selsey, St. Andrews Lodge is set back on the right hand side of Chichester Road opposite Church Road, just before the mini roundabout. | |

St. Andrews Lodge is situated in the small seaside town of Selsey, only 7 miles south of Chichester and ideally located to visit the many attractions of West Sussex. We are close to unspoilt beaches and 5 minutes from Pagham Harbour Nature Reserve. Enjoy our delicious breakfast and stay in one of our pretty rooms. 5 of our rooms are on the ground floor and open directly onto our large, south facing garden, an ideal place to soak up the sun and enjoy a drink from the bar. Dogs are also welcome in our ground floor rooms. We are now completely non-smoking. Unwind with a drink in the bar area or by the cosy log fire in the sitting room for winter evenings. Enjoy a traditional English breakfast in the morning, as well as cereals, yogurts and fresh fruit salad. There is ample private parking space to the front of the property. One of our ground floor rooms has been specially adapted for guests with wheelchairs. The room has a double and single bed as well as a wheel-in shower room. |

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged. If cancelled later or in case of no-show, the first night will be charged.
