| Croft, which was once the home to a young Lewis Carroll, is only 10 minutes from the East Coast main line railway station in Darlington, 5 minutes from the a1 (m) and 15 minutes from Teesside International Airport. From the A1 Northbound: Take the Darlington/Teesside Airport turn-off; at the end of the slip road roundabout head for Darlington/Teesside Airport. At the large roundabout take the fourth exit onto the A167 for Northallerton. Go through Hurworth and past the Reg Vardy car showroom on your right. After two miles, you will get to Hurworth Place where you must bear right over the bridge. The Croft is on the right directly after the bridge. From the A1 Southbound: Take the Darlington/Corbridge turn-off onto the A68. Head for Darlington at the roundabouts. Go past the Mill Car Garage and Faverdale Estate, through Cockerton, and at the mini roundabout turn left for the town centre. At the next mini roundabout turn right and head for Northallerton on the A167. You will drive along a tree-lined road for about 2 miles, which will take you along the west side of Darlington. As you reach the outskirts of Blackwell, there will be a large roundabout. Take the third exit, continuing on the A167 for Northallerton. Go through Hurworth and past the Reg Vardy car showroom on your right. After two miles, you will get to Hurworth Place where you must bear right over the bridge.
