All of the 40 bedrooms are individually decorated to a high standard. Some rooms have views over the award-winning gardens, park and championship croquet lawns. Hotel guests have complimentary use of a nearby gym and the spa swimming baths are located next to the hotel and spa gardens. Tennis courts are to be found directly across the road from the hotel and an instructor is on hand to advise on how to play lawn croquet. The Ripon Spa Hotel is a 5 minute walk from the ancient cathedral city centre. Situated in landscaped gardens with championship croquet lawns, guests are offered traditional hospitality with log fires, spacious lounges, real ale and good Yorkshire fare. Located on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, it is ideal for touring the area. The World Heritage site of Fountains Abbey ruins (3 miles) and Ripon Cathedral is well worth visiting. A short drive away are the historic city/town centres of York (30 minutes) and Harrogate (15 minutes). The North Yorkshire Moors National Park is 20 minute drive away. |

By Car From Leeds and Harrogate: - From Leeds, take the A61, and from Harrogate, take the A61 to Ripon. - Head straight over the roundabout and through a double set of traffic lights at Morrisons Supermarket. - Drive straight across the next set of traffic lights (up a hill) towards the town centre. At the traffic lights at the top of the hill, turn left. Bear left at give way sign. - After swimming baths and spa gardens, the Ripon Spa Hotel is on your left. From A1 / A1M South / Boroughbridge and York: - Take junction 48 off the A1M. - Turn right (A168) towards Boroughbridge, over the flyover. - At the next roundabout, take the first exit (B6265 to Ripon). - Go straight over the next roundabout. Take the first exit of the next roundabout to Ripon B6265. Head over the A1M flyover. - Travel into Ripon passing the racecourse. Head straight over the next roundabout with the Plumb Centre on the right. Go straight over the next roundabout towards the traffic lights; move to the middle lane. - Turn right up the hill. At traffic lights at the top of the hill turn left. Follow directions as above. From A1 / A1M North / Thirsk A61: - Turn off the A1M at the junction Ripon/Thirsk A61. - Follow the Ripon signs (A61). - After 4 miles you will come to the bypass roundabout. Turn right and then left at the mini roundabout into the centre of Ripon, passing the clock tower on your right. - Follow the road into the market square and move into the right-hand lane. Turn right. - Head straight ahead through the traffic lights and bear left at the give way sign. - After the swimming baths and spa gardens, the Ripon Spa Hotel is on your left. |
