Built in 1398, this establishment has been a coaching inn for over 500 years, and is best described as a historic but refurbished pub with bedrooms. The hotel still retains much of its historic character and charm including inglenook fireplaces, sloping floors and a wealth of original oak beams. Since being refurbished in October 2006, the hotel now offers a wonderful blend of both the old and the new under one roof. Leather sofas and coffee tables lend a sophisticated yet homely and relaxed feel to the main bars, whilst each bedroom has its own individuality and offers most of the modern conveniences required by guests. The unique restaurant offers a wide range of both traditional and exciting dishes, and represents excellent value for money. |
